The wizard’s walking cane

Thank you for journeying with me on my resin experiments. I loved your company. I found this beautiful natural walking stick in the grass in the park. It’s exactly like a naturally formed wizard’s stick. It reminds me of Gandalf’s walking cane. I’m so pleased to have it because it is exactly the right height for me.

Being a hermit

I wanted to share something today, that may not be immediately apparent. I live like a hermit, wandering nature and doing art. I am extremely blessed to have park directly behind my house. Living in Singapore means the weather is either hot sunshine or rain. Which basically means you can be in the park all year except the rainy months at the end of the year. I spend a good hour a day in this park. And this is one of my rituals. Listening to this water feature. The water speaks to us when we listen, full of endless wisdom. The water is in our blood. Sometimes the birds greet me, and the butterflies. The crows discuss the weather and the birds chirp more beautifully than a tune on the flute. A lot of my work is the result of intense reflection, which is why it happens slowly. Slow is good, it gives one time to contemplate and slow down. This is what i wanted to share with you today, a piece of my life. The sound of water.

Angels on Hat

Angels on hat 001

Strange hermit with angels carolling on top of his hat, Had a symbolism of balance of light and dark, here he is present in the sky, with blue clouds and a serene surrounding. Maybe hermits are closer to heaven. who knows.

The angels appear to be in congregation as well, or discussing something, as the hermit holds his transparent cat, a symbolism for understanding secrets.

Hermit reaches for the moon

drawings 2 7 jan 2014 003

I don’t know sometimes if this man that appears in my drawing is a hermit or homeless. but he travels to places in my mind that are lurking deep in my subconscious.

This is the image of the hermit reaching for the moon. There is something very satisfying about drawing this, because i know i have always wanted to touch the moon, to hold it in my hands, to rest my face against it.
