Lotus on water

This is a traditional watercolour study of a lotus. Lotuses are a symbol of spiritual advancement. Particularly in Buddhism. Many goddesses are seen standing on lotuses. I think it represents a balance or harmony of energy. The petals open left and right to represent spiritual awakening or the awakening of your energy centres. It is one of the few flowers that seems to surpass the earthly realm into the spiritual realm in terms of representation. I just wanted to paint a lotus as it is. Its simple beauty. Done in Spring in Singapore

The archangel Michael

This drawing is one of my favourites. It shows a past lifetime in another world, and somehow the Archangel Michael connected, and resonated. In a sea of souls, conquering despair, and even the angel in the corner, alone can feel the light of the Archangel Michael’s sword. Angels move around the souls. People raise up their arms in hope, and the girl bows her head, in this moment, all is well.

When I had schizophrenia I visualized in my mind that I was walking into a great hall, the floors were plain cement and deep magenta coloured silk curtains were blowing in the breeze, obscuring the person behind them. When i approached, it was someone I loved, playing the guitar, he had wild teased up hair and he kept calling me.

This is one of many drawings of that experience, my impression of the person that I saw. Its somehow poetic, and a bit darker. the person in my visualization was more simple, in black t shirt and jeans.
